Main Narrative Page of The John Brown Homepage
http://www.iath.virginia.edu/jbrown/story.html This "easily traveled" site is a link from the John Brown Homepage. It offers information about John Brown's raid and the people and places involved with it. Many links within the main articles lead to primary source material, including newspaper articles, maps and pictures, all of which "serve to make this a multi-age, teacher and student friendly site." History of the event, background information on John Brown and his family are "all reachable via this site." The Homepage itself is also well worth a visit. The one drawback is that a number of the primary source documents are difficult, if not impossible, to read once they are downloaded. This may be frustrating, especially for younger students and students who are less proficient researchers and problem solvers.
